code::XtremeApps:: is back! This year, the 24-hour round-the-clock programming competition aimed at fostering Singapore's computer programming environment, is slated to bring more excitement and fun to students and IT industry professionals.

code::XtremeApps::2008 Open Category invites participants from secondary schools, junior colleges, polytechnics, universities, technology institutes, tertiary institutions, and companies to an exhilarating 24-hour competition to build cool applications and applets that are both useful and fun. This year?s competition is held in partnership with the National Infocomm Competition (NIC), an annual inter-school competition spearheaded by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (iDA). We have participated in the Polytechnic/ITE circuit of NIC, and participants in this category will be able to accumulate their points for the NIC and stand to win more prizes.

And new to this year code::XtremeApps:: is the Junior Category competition inviting students 12 years old and under to experience this fun-filled affair, minus the 24-hour session. The newly added category is to further promote programming education and its essential aspect of using information technology creatively to enhance everyday life - at work or at play.

Join us at the launch and find out more about the format of the competition, the programming tools and the training schedules to prepare you for the competition. Sign up now! Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
