Singapore Standard for Green Data Centres - Energy and Environmental Management Systems
The ITSC has developed a new Singapore Standard for Green Data Centres. SS 564:2010 - Green data centres - Energy and environmental management systems will help data centres reduce their energy consumption and operating costs, thereby enhancing their competitiveness.
This standard is a certifiable, management system standard which provides DCs with a recognised framework as well as a logical and consistent methodology to achieve energy efficiency and continuous improvement in this area. In addition, the standard recommends best practices data centres can adopt, and several metrics they can use to measure their performance and energy efficiency.
The standard will be of interest and beneficial to data centre operators (both commercial and in-house), as well as consultants, vendors and energy service companies.
