The ITSC held its first ever programming competition - code::XtremeApps:: from 22 - 23 September 2007 at the Singapore Management University. A total of 62 teams comprising 157 industry members and students from schools as well as tertiary institutes participated in the 24-hour 'code jam'.
The contestants were required to develop innovative Web 2.0 applications centered around the theme of 'Hospitality and/or tourism services in a participative society'.
After two intensive rounds of judging, eleven teams emerged as the top prize and merit award winners. The top winning team will embark on a trip to Googleplex, Google's headquarters in California, USA, while the second and third prize winners walked home with a total of $8,000 in cash prizes.

The prize presentation ceremony was held in conjunction with the ITSC Programming Seminar on 28 September 2007.
The top 3 prize winners received their awards from Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports and Second Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, while the Merit Award winners received their awards from Mr Wang Zhen from Google Inc.
As the top winning team of code::XtremeApps:: 2007, Team 0x539 members Jonathan, Mohammad and Jacqueline visited the Googleplex at Mountain View, California, USA in March 2008. Accompanying them for the visit were members from the ITSC Council and Secretariat. The team had the opportunity to interact with and present their winning entry to the Googlers at Googleplex.
A member of the 3rd prize winning team (Team Athena) eventually came up with StreetSine (www.streetsine.com), a Singapore Property & Real Estate website that incorporates Google Web Toolkit (GWT) technology. The site is one of the first Rich Internet Application sites in Singapore that works and feels like a desktop application. With its technology and number-crunching algorithms at the backend, StreetSine has benefited property hunters and investors by providing useful information like price trends, comparables properties, amenities and maps at the street level. The company also has an international patent pending on MyOrganizer, an electronic notebook that allows one to organize and transact large amounts of disparate information.
